Things to Do

Note: If you're staying at Alyeska Resort, the concierge will be able to provide additional information on these services and can help with bookings and transportation.

Experience the resort with one of the highest yearly snowfalls in North America. Mostly intermediate to advanced skiing (though beginner runs are accessible on the lower lifts), with hike-accessed bowls and the intense North Face. Ski rentals are available from the hotel and Daylodge, and telemark equipment is available at Girdwood Ski and Cyclery.

Fun new trails wind through Girdwood near the hotel, or set off on a local trail off Crow Creek Road. Rentals available at the hotel and at Girdwood Ski and Cyclery.

Think you can handle extreme skiing in Alaska? This is definitely not for the faint of heart, but if you're an expert skier/rider, April provides some of the best conditions for backcountry skiing in the area.

Have a team of dogs pull you through local forests. The power of these dogs is amazing, and it's a truly unique Alaskan experience!

Who needs dogs when you've got an engine to take you around? Tours through the Girdwood Valley - this is also something very fun and not-to-be-missed!

The best way to get a glimpse of Alaska's remote and unforgiving landscape. Various tours on offer depending on your interests.

See a bunch of cool animals native to Alaska, from moose to musk ox. Please note, the center is about a 20 minute drive from Girdwood.

Where to Eat

Awesome breakfasts (definitely try their sourdough pancakes - an Alaskan staple!) and hearty soups. We like to lunch here on ski days.

***Please note, they only accept cash.

Best cajun food in the North. Seriously good eats; our favorite way to experience the Musky is sitting at the bar for appetizers and drinks (our staple? Coconut Salmon and Hot Buttered Rum).

***Please note, they do not take reservations.

Yes, we're having our rehearsal dinner here, but we love this place so much that we've got to list it in the guide, too. It's worth going to twice in one week, trust us. Brunch is particularly stellar.

This sushi restaurant in the hotel is sooooo good. If you're around on a Monday, go in for their special - chef's choice roll and pint of Sapporo on draft for $10.

Need a sweet treat? Grab some amazing chocolate from fourth-generation chocolate makers in Alyeska's Daylodge. Open Friday-Sunday, they've got chocolate squares and bars, brittles, hot chocolate, and state fair-style donuts. We're partial to his Himalayan pink salted chocolate!
